Pima County, AZ – An 11-year-old girl from Pima County was killed after being struck by a vehicle at an intersection in Pima County Friday afternoon.
According to the Pima County Sheriff's Department, the crash happened at around 1:30 p.m. at West Corte De Maizal and South Avenida De Raspa.
Reportedly, a truck crashed into the girl while riding on a scooter in unclear circumstances.
The girl, who was not wearing a helmet, died at the scene.
The name of the juvenile was not immediately disclosed.
The driver involved remained at the scene and cooperated with the officers.
Speed and impairment were not considered to be factors in the crash.
An investigation is ongoing.
