The deadly accident happened around 11:29 p.m. on October 21 on Highway 101 near milepost 121.

Lincoln County, OR – A man was killed on Tuesday in a skateboard accident in Lincoln Beach, according to the Oregon State Police.

Police said Joseph Wesley Tallman, a 35-year-old resident of Depoe Bay, was attempting to ride his skateboard across the highway from the eastbound shoulder when he was struck by a Mack commercial motor vehicle that was traveling northbound.

Tallman was taken to a local hospital where he later died.

The driver of the Mack, Marcus Daniel Harwood, 35, of Veneta, was uninjured in the accident.

The accident closed the highway for about four hours.

The collision remains under investigation.
