The Guadalupe man was involved in the collision around 6:25 a.m. Saturday on Highway 1 south of Highway 166.

Guadalupe, CA. – 22-year-old Jasun Cipriano Bautista died when his car slammed into a tractor-trailer attempting to make a right turn into an agricultural field in Guadalupe, the Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Office Coroner's Bureau reported.
The Guadalupe man was involved in the collision around 6:25 a.m. Saturday on Highway 1 south of Highway 166.
According to authorities, Bautista was driving a 2015 Jeep southbound on Highway 1 behind a 2020 Kenworth tractor-trailer driven by Rigoberto Rosales of Santa Maria.
Rosales slowed down to make a right turn into an agricultural field but Bautista failed to slow down in time and slammed into the rear of the tractor-trailer.
Bautista sustained fatal injuries in the crash.
Rosales was not injured.
The area where the crash occurred has typically light traffic on the weekends but often includes slow-moving farm equipment and work vehicles.
An investigation into the collision is ongoing.
