Indio, CA – A pedestrian was struck and killed by a vehicle in Indio on Saturday evening, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The incident took place just after 6 p.m. February 20, on Interstate 10 near Golf Center Parkway.
According to preliminary reports, a man was walking across Interstate 10 westbound from the right side to the center median when he was struck by a Ford truck.
The California Highway Patrol and firefighters arrived at the scene shortly after and the pedestrian was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The pedestrian was only identified as a 40-year-old man.
There were no details on the driver of the Ford and further information on the incident was not avaliable.
The California Highway Patrol is conducting an investigation to determine the cause of the accident.
