Houston, TX – A teenage motorcycle rider was killed in a collision with a vehicle near Memorial Park on Tuesday night, according to the Houston Police Department.
Shortly after 7:30 p.m. March 3, authorities were called to the scene of a two-vehicle collision in the 4700 block of Woodway Drive at North Post Oak.
According to HPD, an 18-year-old was riding a black Yamaha motorcycle westbound on Woodway Drive at a high rate of speed when it slammed into an eastbound Jeep Cherokee that was attempting to make a left turn onto North Post Oak.
The HPD and Houston Fire Department crews immediately responded to the scene of the crash.
Medics pronounced the motorcyclist deceased at the site of the accident. His identity has not been released pending notification of the next-of-kin.
Police questioned the 55-year-old driver of the Jeep and released them at the scene. The driver, who was unhurt in the accident, was not suspected to have been impaired.
The Houston Police Department is conducting an ongoing investigation into the incident.
