Riverside County, CA – The person who was killed in a pedestrian crash at an intersection in Hemet late Saturday afternoon has been identified, according to the Hemet Police Department.
The authorities identified the deceased pedestrian as 53-year-old Shanna Webster of Hemet, CA.
The collision occurred at the intersection of N. San Jacinto Street and E. Devonshire Avenue at approximately 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 6, 2026, Hemet Police reported.
According to the preliminary investigation, a vehicle was traveling through the intersection on N. San Jacinto Street on a green light, when Webster walked across San Jacinto Avenue in front of the vehicle and was struck.
Emergency medical personnel administered CPR at the scene, but Webster was pronounced deceased on the roadway at approximately 6:28 p.m.
Based on initial findings, the driver remained at the scene and cooperated with police; no arrests have been reported in connection with the collision at this time.
Hemet Police officers and emergency responders worked the scene following the fatal incident, directing traffic and conducting the investigation.
Traffic in the area of N. San Jacinto Street and E. Devonshire Avenue was slowed as responders cleared the intersection and reopened lanes for travel.
The deadly pedestrian collision remains under investigation by the Hemet Police Department as authorities continue to determine any further contributing factors in the crash.
