Harney County, OR – One person was killed following a two-vehicle crash on Highway 20 in Harney County on Wednesday evening, according to the Oregon State Police.

Preliminary investigation indicated 25-year-old Christopher Emanuel Cortez Morales of Terrebonne was driving a Honda Accord westbound on Highway 20 when, for some reason, he lost control and crossed into the eastbound lane. The Honda clipped an eastbound Audi A6 driven by 53-year-old Jennifer Tiffany Carey of Bend, causing the Honda to roll and eject its operator.
Morales, who was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash, was declared deceased at the scene. Carey was reportedly uninjured. No arrests were announced in connection with the collision.
Operator impairment is being considered a primary factor in the crash, according to Oregon State Police.
OSP responded to the scene and was assisted by the Oregon Department of Transportation during the on-scene investigation.
Highway 20 was impacted for approximately 1.5 hours while authorities investigated the crash and cleared the roadway.
The incident remains under investigation by the Oregon State Police.
