Cash Justin Krawetz, 16, of Montara, died in the crash that happened at about 12:15 p.m. February 9, near Terrace Avenue.

According to the San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office, Krawetz was riding an electric bike along the shoulder when he crashed into a box truck in the area. The report indicates that the e-bike was intended for off-road riding and was not street-legal.

The deputies immediately responded to the scene and performed life-saving measures on Krawetz, who was in critical condition.

Krawetz was then rushed to a hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
