German Garcia Killed in Motorcycle Accident on Highway 46 in Bakersfield

Bakersfield, CA. – 28-year-old German Garcia of Lost Hills was the motorcyclist who died after colliding with a car Sunday evening in Bakersfield, the Kern County Coroner’s Office reported.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the wreck occurred around 6:04 p.m. on Highway 46 at Martin Avenue.

Investigators determined that prior to the crash, Garcia was riding a 1994 Honda off-road motorcycle eastbound on Highway 46, and a 31-year-old Lost Hills man was driving a 2002 Honda Civic west on Highway 46.

Authorities said the driver of the Honda made a left turn onto Martin Avenue in front of the motorcycle.

Garcia, who was riding his motorcycle at a high rate of speed, broadsided the car.

Emergency personnel pronounced the motorcyclist dead at the scene.

The driver of the car suffered minor injuries.

An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
