The WSP reported that Kary Eaton, 59, of Quincy, was driving a 2022 Toyota Corolla north on Highway 281 when he stopped to make a left turn onto Road 4 NW. The Corolla was rear-ended by a 2017 GMC Sierra that was being driven by Pedro Olivares, 19, of Quincy.

George, WA – Two people were airflifted after a five-vehicle collision that led to the arrest of one motorist on Monday evening north of George, according to the Washington State Patrol.
The incident took place at around 5 p.m. on Monday, July 13, on Highway 281 at Road 4 NW.
The WSP reported that Kary Eaton, 59, of Quincy, was driving a 2022 Toyota Corolla north on Highway 281 when he stopped to make a left turn onto Road 4 NW. The Corolla was rear-ended by a 2017 GMC Sierra that was being driven by Pedro Olivares, 19, of Quincy.
Shortly after, the GMC was struck by a southbound 2025 Toyota 4Runner, which was in turn hit by 2000 Dodge Dakota driven by Enrique Rivera, 34, of Warden.
The fifth vehicle, a 2012 Ford F-150, tried to swerve to avoid the crashed vehicles but ended up sideswiping the Corolla and landed in a ditch.
Eaton and the operator of the Toyota 4Runner, Avni Malhotra, 41, of Richland, were both flown to Confluence Health Central Hospital with major injuries. Rivera had less severe injuries and was also transported to the hospital.
Olivares was transported by ambulance to the hospital for treatment of his injuries. Authorities reported that Olivares is expected to face charges in connection with the incident. The Washington State Patrol is investigating the crash.
