Panorama City, CA.- The scooter rider who was killed in a hit-and-run collision in Panorama City on Sunday night has been identified as Gary Schombert, 34, according to the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner's Office.
The collision took place on Woodman Avenue and Strathern Street at around 9:30 p.m. September 28.
According to the authorities, Schombert was riding a motorized scooter northbound on Woodman Avenue when he was hit by a northbound gray four-door Honda sedan.
Schombert was ejected by the impact of the crash.
He was pronounced deceased at the scene by the responding medics.
The driver of the sedan left the scene after the accident.
Police on Tuesday reported that a suspect had been arrested following the incident.
The suspect, identified as Daniel Casillas, 30, was arrested on suspicion of hit-and-run and was booked into the Van Nuys Jail.
The investigation is ongoing.
