Fresno County, CA – 18-year-old Jose Carmona has been identified by the Fresno County Coroner’s Office as the wrong-way driver who died in an early Wednesday morning crash on Highway 41.

Authorities reported that Carmona was driving a Chevrolet Silverado in the wrong direction when he collided with a Ford F-150. Both pickup trucks went off the roadway after the impact.
Both drivers were airlifted to Community Regional Medical Center with severe injuries, where Carmona later died.

One person was killed in a car accident early Wednesday morning near Riverdale in Fresno County.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened around 1:30 a.m. at Highway 41 and Elkhorn Avenue.
A Chevrolet Silverado was traveling the wrong way when it collided with a Ford F-150. The impact of the collision sent both vehicles off the roadway.
Both drivers were airlifted to Community Regional Medical Center, where the driver of the Silverado succumbed to his injuries.
