Investigators reported that a Dodge Charger was traveling south on Highway 99 in the far left lane when it struck a pedestrian who reportedly walked into the roadway

Fresno, CA – Authorities are investigating a deadly pedestrian accident that claimed the life of a woman in Fresno on Friday night.
According to the California Highway Patrol, authorities responded at about 10 p.m. April 17, to reports of a crash on Highway 99, just north of North Avenue.
Investigators reported that a Dodge Charger was traveling south on Highway 99 in the far left lane when it struck a pedestrian who reportedly walked into the roadway.
Emergency medical personnel arrived shortly after and performed life-saving measures on the pedestrian, who was found with critical injuries.
Despite the efforts by medics, the woman succumbed to her injuries at the scene. The victim’s identity was not immediately released.
The driver of the Dodge stayed at the site of the accident and cooperated with the investigators. The driver was not suspected to have been impaired.
