Fresno, CA –The California Highway Patrol is investigating a deadly auto-pedestrian crash that occurred Monday morning on Highway 180 in central Fresno.

CHP said the accident occurred shortly after 7 a.m. on State Route 180 near Cedar Avenue. CHP officers said a man was crossing the westbound lanes of Highway 180 when he was hit by a vehicle.

The man was declared dead at the scene. The victim’s identity has not been released.

The driver remained at the scene and is cooperating with investigators, authorities said.

The crash remains under investigation.
