Fremont, CA – 60-year-old David Elliot died when he was hit by a car early Monday morning in Fremont, authorities reported.
Around 4:15 a.m. on September 7, 2026, Fremont police responded to Stevenson Boulevard just west of Marietta Drive after they were notified about a pedestrian accident.
The officers found Elliott suffering from major injuries.
Paramedics provided first aid at the scene and then transported the pedestrian to the hospital, where he later died from his injuries.
A preliminary investigation revealed that Elliot was walking eastbound on Stevenson Boulevard near the center median when he was struck by the left front portion of a passing car.
The driver stopped and cooperated with investigators.
Drugs and/or alcohol are not believed to be contributing factors, but an investigation is ongoing.

Fremont, CA – A pedestrian was struck and killed by a vehicle on Monday morning in Fremont, the Fremont Police Department reported.
The incident occurred on Stevenson Boulevard west of Marietta Drive at around 4:15 a.m. September 7.
According to preliminary reports, the pedestrian was walking east on Stevenson Boulevard near the center median when they were struck by a vehicle.
Fremont police and emergency crews arrived shortly after, and the pedestrian was rushed to a hospital. The victim was pronounced deceased at the hospital shortly after.
The pedestrian was only identified as a 60-year-old, but their name was not released.
The driver reportedly stayed at the scene and was cooperative with the investigators.
The authorities reported that alcohol and drugs were not believed to be factors in the incident.
The accident is under investigation by the Fremont Police Department, and more details are expected to be released.
