Fontana, CA. – A 17-year-old girl was critically injured in a hit-and-run crash that happened Wednesday morning near an intersection in Fontana, the Fontana Police Department reported.

The teenager was riding her bicycle to Etiwanda High School when, around 7:31 p.m., she was hit by a car in the area of Cherry Avenue and Walnut Street.

The driver involved fled the scene, leaving the victim with severe injuries.

Responding paramedics transported the student to a local hospital in critical condition.
