Elk Grove, CA – The Sacramento County Coroner’s Office identified the two people who died when their vehicle was hit by a speeding car on Monday morning at an intersection in Elk Grove.
The victims were 47-Year-Old Tiffany Chin A Chu and 54-Year-Old Skip Phoong A Van, both Elk Grove residents.
According to the Elk Grove Police Department, at around 4 a.m. on June 1, an officer spotted a Hyundai they deemed suspicious on the east end of Brown Road. As the officer turned to approach the car, one person ran away.
The Hyundai took off heading westbound on Brown Road at a high rate of speed.
The vehicle then crashed into a Tesla at Elk Grove Florin and Brown roads.
The Tesla was occupied by four people, including Tiffany and Skip, who died in the crash.
The other two occupants were hospitalized in unknown condition.
Police said two juveniles in the Hyundai were detained.
A nearby home was also damaged during the collision.

According to the Elk Grove Police Department, the accident happened around 4 a.m. at the intersection of Elk Grove Florin and Brown roads.
An officer reportedly approached a vehicle they deemed suspicious on the east end of Brown Road, Elk Grove.
The vehicle sped off and crashed into a Tesla at the intersection of Elk Grove Florin and Brown roads.
Two of the four occupants of the Tesla were killed in the accident.
Two others were taken to hospital with unknown injuries.
Two juveniles in the Hyundai were detained.
More details about the accident were not released.
Authorities closed Elk Grove Florin Road from Calvine Road to Heritage Hill Drive for at least two hours.
An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
