Elk Grove, CA – A 33-year-old motorcyclist was killed after colliding with an SUV Tuesday evening at an intersection in Elk Grove, authorities reported.
The wreck occurred around 6:14 p.m. on August 18, 2026, at Lewis Stein Road and Dracut Road.
According to a preliminary investigation conducted by the Elk Grove Police Department, a Honda CR-V was traveling northbound in the left turn lane of Lewis Stein Road heading towards Dracut Road. At the same time, a 33-year-old man was riding a motorcycle southbound on Lewis Stein Road in the dedicated right turn lane that also leads to Dracut Road.
Authorities said the Honda continued to turn left, but the motorcyclist did not turn right and instead continued straight and broadsided the SUV.
The rider fell off the bike and got stuck underneath the Honda’s right front tire.
First responders pronounced the man dead at the scene.
The driver of the SUV stopped and remained at the scene after the crash.
Elk Grove PD is investigating the accident.
