La Mesa, CA.- An e-bike rider was injured in a collision with a vehicle in La Mesa on Wednesday evening, according to the San Diego Police Department.
The incident took place on Carroll Canyon Road and Camino Ruiz just before 5 p.m. on May 14.
According to SDPD, a 24-year-old man was riding a Ridstar mountain e-bike north in the southbound bicycle lane of Camino Ruiz when he collided with a gray 2021 Hyundai Venue that was making a turn from eastbound Carroll Canyon Road onto southbound Camino Ruiz.
The rider was taken to a hospital with a closed fracture to his left femur.
Alcohol and drugs were not suspected to have played a role in the incident.
An investigation into the collision is ongoing.
