A 47-year-old man driving a Toyota Corolla struck a 47-year-old man riding a motorcycle northbound at the intersection.
First responders found the Corolla driver unresponsive with open containers of alcohol and marijuana in the car.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene.
The motorcyclist was thrown to the ground after the first impact, sustaining severe injuries.
Firefighters transported the rider to the hospital in critical but stable condition.
Authorities said alcohol and possibly drugs contributed to the crash.
An investigation into the collision is ongoing.
