Solvang, CA. – A man was airlifted to the hospital Sunday afternoon after suffering serious injuries in a single-vehicle collision in Solvang, according to the Santa Barbara County Fire Department.
The incident occurred shortly after 4 p.m. in the 1000 block of Alisal Road.
Authorities said a Corvette left the roadway, broke through a fence, and traveled about 100 feet before coming to a stop.
Fire officials reported that the driver, who was the only occupant, sustained moderate to major injuries.
He was airlifted by a Calstar medical helicopter to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital for treatment.
Details about the man's identity and condition were not available.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
