Delano, CA – A man was hit and killed by a train on Wednesday night in Delano, according to the authorities.

The incident happened in the 300 block of High Street at around 11:29 p.m. on August 19.

Preliminary reports indicate that a person was hit by a train in the area under unclear circumstances. Authorities are yet to establish why the pedestrian was on the tracks.

The victim was declared deceased at the scene. He has been identified by the Kern County Coroner’s Office as Alejandro Delgado Rodriguez, 47.
