La Mesa, CA. – One person died in a multi-vehicle collision that took place Monday evening in La Mesa, the California Highway Patrol reported.
The pileup was reported around 7:20 p.m. on the eastbound 8 Freeway, just west of Fletcher Parkway.
About three vehicles, including a white Toyota SUV and a gray Prius, were involved in the accident.
One person was unresponsive after the crash.
Firefighters and paramedics responded to the scene and offered CPR to the victims.
According to the report, one person died in the accident.
At least one other person was injured.
All eastbound lanes of the freeway were closed following the accident. Traffic was being diverted off the freeway at College Avenue.
