Caruthers, CA.- Daniel Avila, 18, of Caruthers, was killed in a two-vehicle collision that happened in Caruthers early Friday morning, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The incident took place at about 12 a.m. March 7, in the area of W. Kamm and S. Brawley avenues.
According to the report, Avila was driving a Ford truck westbound on Kamm Avenue when he collided with an oncoming semi at the center of the roadway.
Avila was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The driver of the semi was not injured.
An investigation into the collision is ongoing.
