The Riverside County Sheriff-Coroner identified the victim as Abel Quintero, a 25-year-old resident of Lake Elsinore.

Corona, CA – The authorities have released the name of a man who was killed in a multi-vehicle crash allegedly caused by a wrong-way driver early Sunday morning on State Route 91 in Corona.
The Riverside County Sheriff-Coroner identified the victim as Abel Quintero, a 25-year-old resident of Lake Elsinore.
The fatal crash occurred at approximately 5:35 a.m. on the westbound 91 Freeway near the Green River Road off-ramp.
Authorities say a vehicle, possibly a black Ford F-150 pickup truck, was traveling eastbound in the westbound lanes when it triggered a collision involving at least five other vehicles, including a big rig.
Quintero was pronounced dead at about 5:55 a.m. at the scene. The driver of the big rig sustained minor injuries and was transported to Corona Regional Medical Center for treatment. No arrests have been reported.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation, though officials say the incident was allegedly triggered by a wrong-way driver.
Emergency crews, including the California Highway Patrol and other responders, arrived at the scene to assist victims and investigate the crash. A coroner’s representative was requested to the scene shortly after the collision.
The crash prompted a Sigalert at 5:56 a.m., shutting down the westbound lanes of the 91 Freeway for at least two hours. The alert was lifted at approximately 9:25 a.m. after crews cleared the roadway.
The incident remains under investigation by the California Highway Patrol’s Riverside office
