San Bernardino, CA – The person who was killed in a head-on collision on Highway 62 in Vidal, San Bernardino County, has been identified.
The San Bernardino County Medical Examiner identified the deceased party as Connor Coats, an 18-year-old resident of Murrietta.
The accident occurred around 1:49 p.m. on Friday, August 1, on Highway 62 near mile marker 129, near Chambers Well Road.
Authorities said a semi-truck and a white 4-door pickup truck collided head-on, killing one person, later identified as Connor Coats.
An airship landed at the scene, but it wasn’t clear how many other people were injured in the incident.
The semi-truck was pulling another vehicle at the time of the crash. The tank of the vehicle being pulled ruptured, leaking diesel.
No additional information was provided.
