Citrus Heights, CA – A person was killed in a Saturday morning traffic collision on Sylvan Road in Citrus Heights.
The incident was reported at around 9:30 p.m. on May 30, 2026, on Sylvan Road, north of Greenback Lane, according to the Citrus Heights Police Department.
Responding crews arrived at the scene and located a motorized scooter and a vehicle. However, the manner in which they collided was not immediately established.
The rider was found lying in the roadway, and despite lifesaving efforts, they were pronounced dead at the scene.
The identity of the deceased was not immediately disclosed.
Police said alcohol did not appear to be a factor in the crash.
The driver behind the wheel stayed on and cooperated with the investigators.
The southbound lanes of Sylvan Road between Stock Ranch Road and Greenback Lane were shut down during the on-scene investigation.
