Chula Vista, CA – A woman died after she was hit by a vehicle Thursday evening in Chula Vista, the Chula Vista Police Department reported.
Police officers responded to the 500 block of Moss Street after they were notified about the crash just before 6 p.m., January 22.
At the scene, the officers found a woman, believed to be in her 50s, unresponsive and severely injured in the roadway.
Fire crews provided medical aid to the victim before transporting her to a local hospital. The Chula Vista resident later died while receiving treatment.
The driver involved stopped and remained at the scene.
Investigators said drugs and alcohol did not appear to be contributing factors.
CVPD is investigating the accident. Anyone with information about the accident is asked to contact CVPD's Traffic Bureau at 619-476-5300.
