San Diego County, CA – The woman who was killed after being struck by a vehicle on Moss Street in Chula Vista Thursday evening has been identified as Gladys Sandoval, 58, of Chula Vista.
The fatal collision occurred in the 500 block of Moss Street in Chula Vista at approximately 5:58 p.m. on January 22, 2026, according to the Chula Vista Police Department.
The Chula Vista Police Department said Sandoval was crossing Moss Street when she was struck by a sedan traveling on the roadway. The exact direction of the vehicle was not included in the preliminary report.
Responding paramedics found Sandoval severely injured and unresponsive in the roadway. She was transported to UCSD Medical Center in San Diego, where she was later pronounced deceased.
