San Jose, CA – At least one person was seriously injured after a two-vehicle collision on southbound Interstate 280 in San Jose on Saturday afternoon, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP).
The crash occurred at approximately 1:46 p.m. on October 26, 2025, along the southbound lanes of I-280 just north of the Bascom Avenue off-ramp.
According to the CHP, a white pickup truck and a silver Tesla collided, blocking multiple lanes and causing significant traffic disruption.
At least one person suffered major injuries in the crash and was transported to a nearby hospital.
Investigators said one of the vehicles rolled over upon impact, scattering debris across lanes 1 through 3.
Tow services later removed the damaged vehicles, including a GMC pickup and a Honda Accord that sustained major front-end damage. Caltrans crews were called to repair damage to the center divider before all lanes reopened later in the afternoon.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation by the California Highway Patrol.
