According to the authorities, Catarino Lopez, of Hesperia, was riding a blue motorized mini bike northbound on Fifth Avenue when he crashed into the rear of a gray 2004 Toyota Scion that slowed down to make a left turn

Hesperia, CA.- A mini bike rider was airlifted to a hospital after a car accident in Hesperia on Tuesday afternoon, according to the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department.
The incident was reported at around 12:15 p.m. September 30, on Fifth Avenue and Cajon Street.
According to the authorities, Catarino Lopez, of Hesperia, was riding a blue motorized mini bike northbound on Fifth Avenue when he crashed into the rear of a gray 2004 Toyota Scion that slowed down to make a left turn.
Lopez was not wearing a helmet and was flown to a trauma center with serious injuries.
The driver of the Scion, Anthony Rivera, was not injured.
Authorities reported that impairment was not suspected to have played a role in the incident.
The investigation is ongoing.
