Castaic, CA – One person was injured and another arrested after two crashes involving an alleged DUI motorist in Castaic on Monday afternoon.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident took place on The Old Road near Sedona Way on Monday, March 23.

Authorities responded to the scene and located three vehicles at the scene. Further investigations revealed that a white Land Rover was involved in an intitial collision with a yellow Mazda. The operator of the Land Rover drove away shortly after and got into another crash with a silver Lexus sedan.

According to the CHP report, the driver of the Lexus was injured in the accident. There was no update on the condition of the injured driver and it’s unclear whether they were transported to a hospital.

Driving under the influence of alcohol and drugs was determined to have played a role in the incident and the driver of the Land Rover was arrested.

The CHP report indicates that the suspect was booked into the Century Regional Detention Facility in Los Angeles.

The investigation by the California Highway Patrol is ongoing.
