According to the San Diego County Medical Examiner’s Office, Vojislav Popovich, 87, of Carlsbad, died following the crash that occurred in the 1000 block of Palomar Airport Road, near Amada Drive, at around 6:15 p.m. June 17.

Carlsbad, CA – Authorities have released the identity of a man who died days after being involved in a collision last month in Carlsbad.
According to the San Diego County Medical Examiner’s Office, Vojislav Popovich, 87, of Carlsbad, died following the crash that occurred in the 1000 block of Palomar Airport Road, near Amada Drive, at around 6:15 p.m. June 17.
Authorities reported that Popovich was riding as a passenger in one of the two vehicles involved in the collision. The exact circumstances of the crash were still under investigation by the Carlsbad Police Department.
Emergency crews responded to the scene and rendered aid to those involved in the crash. Popovich initially declined treatment and was released.
The police report indicates that Popovich complained of body pain a few days later and was transported to Scripps Memorial Hospital in Encinitas. He was declared deceased at the hospital at 11:43 p.m. on June 22.
No details were provided on the other driver involved in the incident. The Carlsbad Police Department is handling an ongoing investigation into the incident.
