Yuba County, CA – One person is dead after two vehicles collided on Marysville Road in Browns Valley, Wednesday afternoon, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The fatal collision occurred at the intersection of Marysville Road and Bald Mountain Road at approximately 2:06 p.m. on Wednesday, April 1, 2026, CHP reports indicated.

CHP officials said the incident happened when a white Nissan sedan and a white Nissan pickup truck collided head-on. The impact of the collision sent the pickup truck fifteen feet down an embankment, where it came to rest on its wheels.

Authorities said one person suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. Information regarding the identity of the deceased or the condition of other involved parties was not immediately available. No arrests have been made at this time.

Witnesses reported that the white Nissan sedan had been swerving all over the roadway and driving recklessly before the collision.

The California Highway Patrol, Yuba County Sheriff’s Office, and Cal Fire responded to the scene to provide emergency assistance and manage the recovery of the vehicles.

The crash caused significant activity near the intersection for several hours as investigators processed the scene and crews worked to recover the vehicle from the embankment.
