For unknown reasons, a vehicle hit the bicyclist in the area.
The unidentified bicycle rider was rushed to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.
The driver involved stayed at the scene and cooperated with the investigators.
The westbound Arden Way was closed between Ethan Way and Challenge Way for hours, blocking some entrances to Arden Fair Mall, while officers investigated the crash.
The roadway reopened around 10:30 p.m.
