Baldwin Park, CA.- A child riding a bike was hit and injured by a police vehicle at an intersection in Baldwin Park on Wednesday morning, according to the authorities.

The incident took place just before 7 a.m. May 14, on Pacific and Vineland avenues.

According to the report, an officer spotted a driver speeding through the red light at the intersection and attempted to stop them.

As the officer made a left turn on a green light, the officer hit a 9-year-old riding a bike in the crosswalk.

The child was treated at the scene and then transported to a hospital for further medication.

The child’s condition was unknown.

The officer was uninjured in the incident.

The driver who ran the red light fled the area after the incident.

The investigation is ongoing.
