Bakersfield, CA. – 24-year-old Steven Rene Bernal was killed in a car accident early Saturday morning in Bakersfield.
According to the Bakersfield Police Department, the accident happened around 1:04 a.m. in the 2300 block of 24th Street.
Officers found two severely damaged vehicles in the westbound lanes after a head-on collision.
Bernal suffered severe injuries and was later pronounced dead at the scene.
The male driver of the other vehicle suffered minor injuries and was taken to the hospital for treatment.
Police say that driver was driving the wrong way at a high rate of speed with no lights on.
