Bakersfield, CA – A man died days after being hit by a vehicle in Bakersfield early Sunday morning, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The incident happened at around 12:32 a.m. June 7, on Rosedale Highway near Allen Road.

Investigations revealed that the man was walking across Rosedale Highway when he was hit by a vehicle. Details on what led up to the collision were not immediately available.

The victim was taken to Kern Medical with major injuries and was declared deceased two days later. The Kern County Coroner’s Office identified the victim as Jesse Jerome Henderson, 37, of Bakersfield.

There were no details on the driver of the vehicle involved.

Authorities have not released further information on the accident. The California Highway Patrol is conducting an investigation to establish the cause of the collision.
