Bakersfield, CA – A pedestrian was sent to the hospital after being hit by a vehicle late Friday night near an intersection in south Bakersfield.

Bakersfield police and firefighters responded to the area of South P Street and Brundage Lane after they were notified about a pedestrian accident around 10:20 p.m. on October 9, 2026.

The responders found a pedestrian with moderate to major injuries. The firefighters transported the victim to the hospital for treatment.

The driver of the car had initially fled the scene but was apprehended about 30 minutes after the accident.
