Preliminary reports indicate that a bicyclist was riding a bike on Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard when he was struck by a vehicle

Bakersfield, CA – Authorities are investigating a deadly collision that claimed the life of a bicyclist earlier this month in Bakersfield.
According to the Bakersfield Police Department, the wreck happened at about 9 p.m. on April 11, on Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and Murdock Street.
Preliminary reports indicate that a bicyclist was riding a bike on Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard when he was struck by a vehicle. It’s unclear what led up to the accident.
Emergency crews responded to the scene shortly after and the rider was rushed to Kern Medical, where he was declared deceased two hours later.
The Kern County Coroner’s Office has identified the bicyclist as 67-year-old Juventino Dominguez of Bakersfield.
The identity of the involved driver was not immediately released.
Whether alcohol or drugs played a role in the incident was not specified.
The cause of the collision is under investigation by the Bakersfield Police Department.
