Bakersfield, CA – Authorities have identified an additional person of the four who died last month in a fiery collision in Bakersfield.

According to the Kern County Coroner’s Office, 75-year-old Rebecca Radovich of Tehachapi died in the crash.

A day after the collision, the coroner’s office identified 53-year-old Veronica Espinoza as one of the four killed.

The accident occurred around 10:27 a.m. Monday, on September 28, 2026, on Highway 58 between Malaga Road and Edison Road.

According to the California Highway Patrol, a 2025 Hyundai Tucson was traveling eastbound on Highway 58, and a 2020 Toyota Corolla was traveling westbound on the same highway.

Authorities said, for a reason still under investigation, the driver of the Hyundai allowed the car to veer left and cross the center divider into the westbound lanes.

The Hyundai collided head-on with the Toyota. Both vehicles caught fire after the crash.

The Toyota was occupied by the driver and two passengers, including Espinoza, and the Hyundai was occupied by the sole driver. All occupants were trapped inside their vehicles.

The four occupants sustained severe injuries and died in the accident. Authorities have not yet released the names of the other two victims.

An investigation into the collision is ongoing.
