Bakersfield, CA – One person was hospitalized after a big rig collision that took place Friday night in Bakersfield, as per the California Highway Patrol logs.
The wreck took place around 11:21 p.m. on southbound State Route 99, just north of Houghton Road.
According to CHP, a big rig hauling corn collided with a white Infiniti sedan under unclear circumstances. The sedan was reportedly traveling at a high rate of speed prior to the crash.
Firefighters responded to the scene and helped one person who was pinned inside the sedan. The victim was taken to Kern Medical with moderate injuries.
Several lanes were shut down following the collision. The lanes were reopened around 12:27a.m., Saturday.
