According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident was reported around 12 p.m. on westbound Interstate 80, just east of the Carlson Boulevard off-ramp.
First responders found a black Toyota Tundra and a silver semi-truck pulling a silver trailer involved in the crash.
Richmond firefighters and paramedics responded to the scene and offered medical aid to at least one person who complained of pain to the back.
The cause and manner of the collision is under investigation.
