Banning, CA – At least two people were sent to the hospital after a collision that happened on New Year's Day in Banning, the California Highway Patrol reported.

According to CHP, a white Chevrolet Crus hydroplaned and ended up facing the wrong way in traffic lanes. A passing black Nissan Altima also hydroplaned and hit the stopped Chevy.
Firefighters and AMR responded to the scene to help the motorists.
At least two people were injured in the second collision. They were transported to the hospital with minor injuries.
The vehicles were towed away from the scene.
CHP is investigating the accident.
