Perris, CA. – At least one person died in a traffic collision that happened Sunday night in Perris, the California Highway Patrol reported.
The incident occurred around 11:35 p.m. on the westbound Ramona Expressway just east of Bernasconi Road.
Several vehicles were involved in the accident, including one that was reportedly driving the wrong way.
One of the drivers told authorities that a car was heading in the wrong direction when it hit her vehicle.
At least one person died in the crash.
It was unclear if any other person was injured.
The eastbound and westbound lanes of Ramona Expressway were closed at Bernasconi Road following the crash.
An investigation is ongoing.
