, CA. — A 15-year-old girl who died earlier this month after a violent crash near the Interstate 580 off-ramp at 35th Avenue has been identified as Ashley Lopez Argueta, according to the County Coroner's Bureau.

The crash happened on November 7.

Oakland police said a teenage boy was driving a vehicle with the other teens as his passengers and had allegedly been fleeing the scene of an earlier collision near 14th Avenue and East 31st Street before entering . As the boy exited the freeway at high speeds around 9:45 a.m., another vehicle struck his car, forcing it into the concrete barrier in the 3300 block of 35th Avenue.

Argueta, an Oakland Technical High School student, was riding in the back seat and suffered severe injuries.

She was rushed to a hospital, where she later died.

The boy was hospitalized in critical but stable condition. He was also put under arrest.

The other passengers were also hospitalized for their injuries.

Police did not specify how many passengers were in the first vehicle.

Investigators said drugs and alcohol are not believed to be factors in the crash.

Oakland, CA – A 15-year-old girl was killed and four others were injured after two collisions on Friday morning in Oakland.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash happened at around 9:45 a.m. on November 7, in the 3300 block of 35th Avenue at the Interstate 580 off-ramp.

A preliminary investigation revealed that the first collision happened around 9:40 a.m. near 14th Avenue and East 31st Street, where a Toyota Corolla carrying five teens struck another vehicle and fled the scene.

The suspect exited at 35th Avenue and continued south at a high rate of speed before colliding with another vehicle in the 3300 block of 35th Avenue. The impact caused the Corolla to crash into a concrete wall.
All five occupants of the Corolla were taken to the hospital for treatment, where the 15-year-old female passenger in the rear seat was declared dead.
The driver was hospitalized in critical but stable condition and later arrested on charges of vehicular manslaughter and hit-and-run, authorities said. The conditions of the other three teens were unknown.

No further details about the accident were provided.

The accident remains under investigation.
