Apple Valley, CA – One person was killed following an ATV crash Friday morning at an intersection in Apple Valley, according to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department and the California Highway Patrol (CHP).
The collision occurred at approximately 7:00 a.m. on Friday, January 16, 2026, at Esaws Avenue and Oden Drive.
According to CHP officials, Joshua Liverman, 42, of Apple Valley, was riding a 2007 Honda TRX250EX northbound along Oden Drive at an unknown speed when he made an unsafe turning movement to the left. Investigators said Liverman lost control of the ATV, which then traveled in a northwesterly direction onto the dirt shoulder and struck a large boulder.
Liverman was ejected from the ATV as a result of the impact and sustained fatal injuries. He was pronounced dead at the scene. No other injuries were reported, and no arrests were announced in connection with the crash.
The cause of the collision remains under investigation as authorities continue to review the circumstances that led to the loss of control.
Deputies with the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department and officers with the California Highway Patrol responded to the scene, secured the area, and conducted the on-scene investigation.
Traffic in the area of Esaws Avenue and Oden Drive was impacted during the response as authorities worked at the scene and documented the incident.
The fatal Apple Valley ATV crash remains under investigation by the California Highway Patrol and the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department.
