Antioch, CA – One person was seriously injured in a rollover collision that happened early Saturday morning in Antioch, the California Highway Patrol reported.
The two-vehicle crash happened around 3:19 a.m. on June 20, 2026, on eastbound State Route 4, just east of State Route 160.
A black Tesla Model Y and a black Honda SUV were involved in the accident. The Tesla overturned in the collision.
Two parties reporting the accident told authorities that the Tesla was traveling at over 100 mph, swerving all over, prior to the crash.
Firefighters and paramedics responded to the scene shortly after receiving reports of the accident.
One person sustained major injuries in the crash. The victim was conscious and breathing.
The Tesla was towed away with major rollover damage.
All the eastbound lanes of SR-4 were closed following the incident. Multiple motorists were turning around and driving the wrong way on the right shoulder and the slow lane to avoid the collision scene. The traffic lanes were reopened at 4:04 a.m.
An investigation is ongoing to establish the factors that contributed to the collision.
