Deschutes County, OR – The Oregon State Police has identified a person killed in a head-on collision on Highway 97 in Deschutes County Thursday night as 25-year-old Anthony Buddrick Torres of La Pine.
The deadly wreck was reported at around 8:52 p.m. on May 8 on State Route 97 near milepost 156.
Reports revealed that Torres was driving a southbound Dodge Caravan on the highway when for unknown reasons he drifted into the centerline and collided head-on with a northbound Kenworth commercial motor vehicle and trailer driven by Florentino Cruz Aguilar, 52, of Williams (CA).
Torres was declared deceased at the scene.
Aguilar suffered was transported to an area medical center for treatment of minor injuries.
The highway was impacted for several hours during the on-site investigation.
