Hemet, CA – The elderly woman who was hit and killed by a vehicle Wednesday morning in East Hemet has been identified.
The Riverside County Sheriff’s Office identified the victim as 81-year-old Ana De Anda from Hemet.
Anda died after she was hit by a vehicle driven by a 38-year-old Hemet man at about 7:10 a.m. on Stanford Street 50 feet south of Johnston Avenue.

Hemet, CA – An 81-year-old woman died when she was hit by a vehicle Wednesday morning in Hemet, authorities reported.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident occurred just after 7 a.m. on Standford Street near Johnson Avenue.
Investigators said the senior citizen was walking in traffic lanes when she got hit by a Chrysler 300 under unclear circumstances.
Riverside County Fire Department paramedics responded and pronounced the victim dead at the scene.
The 38-year-old Hemet man driving the car stopped after the crash. He was detained for questioning but was not arrested.
Drugs or alcohol are not thought to be contributing factors.
